Theresa Camoriano, Duncan Galloway Egan Greenwald PLLC, (502) 423-9850, firstname.lastname@example.org
The statement made at the September meeting that the U.S. has the highest infant mortality rate of the developed countries is not true. If you investigate, you will find that each country measures infant mortality differently, which makes the comparison meaningless. There is so much misinformation out there that it makes it difficult for us to know how to carry out our responsibility as citizens in a self-governing country.
I recommend two books that have helped me and that can be obtained free on the Internet: 1. "The Law," by Frederic Bastiat, which was written in the mid-1800s and explains the proper role of law in a free society. I am a Patent Attorney and wish I had known about that book when I was in law school: http://bastiat.org/en/the_law.html. 2. "Economics in One Lesson," by Henry Hazlitt, written in 1946 and still very relevant. It can be downloaded from the library at the Mises Institute: https://mises.org/library
Matt Multerer, Finespun Clothing, (502) 777-5420, email@example.com
My name is Matt Multerer. Some of you have met me in the past as a commercial banker with Chase. But this summer I jumped into the start-up world by launching an online men's clothing company called Finespun Clothing. We are a brand driven by the principles of the direct-to-consumer delivery model, which allows us to produce luxurious, high-quality garments without the traditional retail mark-ups. I also want to give a big shout out to Dayna Neumann, Alli Truttmann, Larry Horn, and Greg Langdon, all of whom provided great guidance as I started this venture. For more information, visit www.FinespunClothing.com.
Zuzana Hronik, Louisville Apocalypse, (502) 608-1163, firstname.lastname@example.org
With the outbreak of zombie themed craze, we want to bring the zombie apocalypse to Louisville by creating a destination adventure venue. The Louisville Apocalypse will offer a complete immersion into the zombie infested world with one mission in mind – to survive. Louisville Apocalypse wants to do it right, with focus on realism and attention to detail by using the state-of-the-art laser tag equipment, with full metal, gas-recoil weapons and the headshot to immobilize the zombies. Louisville is a fun and eccentric city — the annual Zombie Walk is a great testament to this. This event started with just a few friends and has grown to tens of thousands participants. We are seeking investors who would like to capitalize on the zombie craze that is still on the rise thanks to the popular AMC television show "The Walking Dead."

Drew Duffin, VizionAir, (317) 363-5618, firstname.lastname@example.org
VizionAir is in the process of developing solutions to become a pioneer in the commercial drone industry. The U.S. drone industry (UAV) had an economic impact of more than $13.6 billion and 70,000 jobs within the first three years of integration. U.S benefits will grow through 2025 with more than 100,000 jobs created and economic impact of $82 billion. States that create favorable regulatory and business environments for the industry, and the technology will likely siphon jobs away from states that do not. The various applications of UAV drones not only help the end user save big in terms of cost and time of operations while mitigating the risk of human involvement, but also allows users to gain an innovative-creative experience. VizionAir is actively gaining strategic partnerships, advisers and insights to help become the model for how drone services will develop and grow for the future. Mike Harlan, Custom Rubber Composites LLC, (502) 608-6518, email@example.com
Custom Rubber Composites is an industrial manufacturing startup that I helped found in 2013. We make a consumable product, impact bars, that are used to support heavy-duty conveyor belts in coal mines, processing plants, power plants, rock quarries and similar places. We're offering a better-performing, tailored product at a competitive price, made here in Louisville with U.S.-made materials, with excellent service and support versus imports primarily from India, China and Malaysia. We grew our sales in 2014 and were cash-positive, so we don't need capital or investors right now. But we're looking for new customers, so if you know anybody who owns or operates heavy-duty conveyor belts and buys impact bars, call (502) 608-6518 or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm also glad to share what we've learned with anybody else who's considering an industrial manufacturing startup.
